Cash for Kids

Cows which graze in the lush fields of the tranquil Eden Valley produce the finest milk for Taste of Eden ice cream. All the milk comes from a family farm near Appleby. This naturally rich milk is delivered fresh directly from the farm to the dairy where the ice cream is handmade to a traditional family recipe.

The small family run business, which also produces the ever popular Slee’s ice cream, has been making ice cream for the local community for 75 years. Generations have enjoyed the smooth, rich and creamy taste of the ice cream.

To celebrate the businesses 75 years of production, Taste of Eden is keen to put something back into the community through the CFM Radio’s Cash for Kids ice cream project. The company would like to donate the profit from their specially developed Cash for Kids flavour. The more ice cream eaten the more money goes to support disadvantaged Cumbrian children. The charity was specially selected in the knowledge that every penny is urgently needed for disadvantaged children who may just need care and support, that a little taste of happiness will bring a smile to the faces of children across Cumbria. (Taste of Eden ice cream is egg free, suitable for vegetarians and every effort is made to make sure colours, flavours and preservatives are totally natural)

Cash for Kids is the official charity of CFM Radio. Every year the award winning station raises hundreds of thousands of pounds for disadvantaged children in Cumbria. The charity was established as soon as the extent of the need became known and recognition of the fact that funds had to be raised locally to be spent locally.

Most people are shocked to learn how many thousands of children in our area suffer from mental, physical or sensory disabilities. The number who have behavioural, psychological disorders or special needs. Most shocking is the fact that so many local children are living in poverty or situations of deprivation, suffering through distress, abuse or neglect.
